Week in Review 22/14




Welcome and thanks for reading! In this review, I will gather together important and interesting news and events over the last week related to my portfolio holdings. In my week review, I put also together some interesting articles from other websites that caught my attention during the past week.


Dividends from My Portfolio Holdings:

  • On May 27 I received a dividend of € 55.38 from Oriflame. 

Dividend income reported after the deduction of taxes. I have also updated my Monthly Dividend sheet.

Intel Corporation: 27 May, 2014

  • Intel Enters into Strategic Agreement with Rockchip to Accelerate, Expand Portfolio of Intel-Based Solutions for Tablets (More here)


Bank of Nova Scotia: Second quarter results 27 May, 2014 (More here)
  • Net income of $1,800 million, up 14.0% from $1,582 million.
  • Earnings per share (diluted) of $1.39 compared to $1.22, up 14.0%.
  • Quarterly dividend of 64 cents per common share.

Golar LNG: First quarter 2014 results 28 May, 2014 (More here)
  • Golar reports first quarter 2014 net income of $13.0 million.
  • EBITDA generated in the quarter amounts to income of $33.1 million.
  • The company takes delivery of FSRU Golar Igloo in February. Maiden cargo delivered on board and commissioning concluded successfully off Kuwait in March
  • Golar completes the sale of its interest in the FSRU Igloo to Golar Partners for $310 million.
  • The Company concludes financing for four of its remaining 5 unfinanced newbuilds.
  • Board maintains dividend of $0.45 for the quarter.

Prosafe SE: First quarter 2014 results 28 May, 2014 (More here)
  • Operating profit for the first quarter amounted to USD 22.9 million (USD 19 million). Utilisation of the fleet was 76 per cent (74 per cent).
  • Net profit amounted to USD 18.3 million (net loss of USD 0.7 million), and earnings per share were USD 0.08 (USD 0.00).
  • Total assets at 31 March amounted to USD 1 597.5 million (USD 1 459.2 million), while the book equity ratio rose to 43.9 per cent (42 per cent). Net interest-bearing debt stood at USD 728.9 million (USD 608.1 million).
  • On 28 May 2014 the Board of Directors resolved to declare an interim dividend equivalent to USD 0.16 per share to shareholders of record as of 6 June 2014.
    The shares will trade ex-dividend on 4 June 2014. The dividend will be paid in the form of NOK 0.95 per share on 18 June 2014.
