Nordic companies in the portfolio, Dividend Proposals, Week 4, 2018

Now the report period has started in full swing and Nordic companies in my portfolio begin to publish their year-end reports as well as dividend proposals. Here is a brief summary of week 4 announcements and their impact on my dividend income.

NCC AB:

The Board’s proposal for the 2017 fiscal year is that a dividend of SEK 8.00 be paid per share (8.00), divided between two payment occasions. The proposed record dates are April 13, 2018 for the first payment of SEK 4.00 and November 5, 2018 for the second payment of SEK 4.00.

According to the Friday's share price SEK 160.60, the current dividend yield is 4.98 %.

The dividend remains at the same level, doesn’t affect my dividend income.

Gjensidige Forsikring Group:

The Board has proposed a dividend based on the profit for the 2017 financial year (regular dividend) of NOK 3,550 million (3,400). This corresponds to NOK 7.10 (6.80) per share and is around 79 (73) per cent of the Group’s profit after tax expense. Gjensidige's goal is to distribute high and stable nominal dividends (regular dividends) to its shareholders, and at least 70 per cent of the profit after tax expense over time. In addition, any future excess capital will be distributed to the shareholders over time (special dividends).

According to the Friday's share price NOK 149.10, the current dividend yield is 4.76 %.

Dividend increase by 4.4%, my net dividend income will increase by $ 89.40 (€ 4.40).

Telia Company:

For 2017, the Board of Directors proposes to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) an ordinary dividend of SEK 2.30 per share (2.00), totaling SEK 10.0 billion (8.7), or 81 percent of free cash flow attributable to continuing operations. Dividend should be split and distributed into two equal tranches of SEK 1.15 each. The Board of Directors proposes that the final day for trading in shares entitling shareholders to dividend be set for April 10, 2018, and that the first day of trading in shares excluding rights to dividend be set for April 11, 2018. If the AGM votes to approve the Board’s proposals, the dividend is expected to be distributed by Euroclear Sweden on April 17, 2018.

According to the Friday's share price SEK 38.53, the current dividend yield is 5.97 %.

The dividend will increase by 15.0%, my net dividend income will increase by SEK 670.50 (€ 68.56).

    1. Hi Henrik

I wait, that TELIA will end the adventure in the world and start focusing again on the Nordic countries and the Baltic countries.NCC had a bad year, especially in the second half of the year, but I believe it has the potential to return to growth. Construction is, however, quite cyclical, so fluctuations are normal. Both will stay in the portfolio.

      Cheers,
      DH
